PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Tony is originally from the United Kingdom and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, a Postgraduate Diploma-in Law and a Master of Laws in Commercial Law. Tony holds 'dual rights of admission': he was admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of England and Wales in 1999 and subsequently after successfully re-qualifying, he was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2003.
He is also admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia and is a member of both the Law Society of New South Wales & the Law Society of England and Wales.
Tony has been a practising lawyer for over eleven (11) years and has gained extensive experience and expertise in the areas of commercial litigation and dispute resolution, insurance litigation, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency.
CURRENT PRACTICE
Tony has gained extensive experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, practising primarily in the areas of commercial and contractual disputes, bankruptcy, corporate insolvency, insurance litigation and construction litigation dispute resolution.
Tony is the Senior Associate of the litigation department at MBP Legal. In his approach to litigation, Tony prefers to adopt a commercial but pragmatic approach encouraging the maintenance of 'open communication' lines between the parties. In his practice, Tony has been involved in several mediation hearings and this has regularly resulted in the settlement of otherwise highly protracted litigious disputes on 'commercial terms' favourable to his client(s).
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Tony has acted on behalf of high profile private clients while in Australia and previously with leading law practices in London.
He has experience in appearing and representing clients before the the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and the District Court of New South Wales. Several of Tony's matters have been heard before the Court of Appeal in the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Tony has experience in industries which include film and television, banking, insurance and construction.
